Markus Seppälä holds a master’s degree in business and commercial law from Linköping University in Sweden. He is a speaker, presenter and stand-up comedian. Using his years of experience in executive compensation strategy as well as his insights from the comedy stage, he engages diverse audiences with humor and enthusiasm.
Phillip Grimm | How Artificial Intelligence Is Cleaning Up Our Rivers
In his professional life, Phillip Grimm is a green tech innovator and founder of Grimm Water Solutions UG, a Freiburg-based high-tech startup and innovation driver in the field of smart water cities. As initiator and executive board member of the Digital Water Institute e.V., he contributes to the success of the digital transformation in the water industry and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Sebastian Müller | The D.I.Y. Energy Revolution — Balcony Photovoltaics Is That Easy!
Sebastian Müller was born in Freiburg and still has strong ties to the city. After training as a paramedic, he completed a degree in English, politics and economics. He is also a moderator for child and youth participation. As a city councilor in Freiburg, he advocated for youth participation and against climate change.
Vivian Loftin | Navigating the Recycling Jungle
Vivian Loftin studied International Cultural & Business Studies. She is co-founder of recyda, a Freiburg-based startup, where she is responsible for communication and data research. Together with her colleagues, she advises international companies on how to make their products more recyclable. In her interactive talk, Vivan Loftin will showcase her three favorite examples for (non-)recyclable packaging and explain what to look for when you are shopping!
Martina Haas | Forget Networking — Or Do It Right!
Martina Haas studied law in Freiburg. After working as a lawyer and in the banking and real estate industry, she is now an expert in networking and communication. In addition to appearing as a speaker and lecturer, she is also an author and has already published several books. Martinas heart beats for networking — when it’s done right. And she is certain: there is no excuse for not networking.
Carmen Goglin | Laughter Needs No Reason!
Carmen Goglin has been working in human resources for a long time, and for the last 10 years she has been self-employed, helping companies to improve their HR process. Her work is very diverse: she has trained as a business coach, business mediator, stress management trainer, VLV coach and life coach. Another passion of hers is laughing. Carmen’s mission is to increase happiness and laughter in the world.
Alexander Wollert | The Beauty of Sharing Life With Strangers
Alexander is a Freiburger Bobbele and after years in other cities and countries just moved back to his hometown a few months ago. He works in a Freiburg software company and is also involved in the refugee aid organizations Avicenna Kultur- und Hilfswerk e.V. and TIAFI. In his talk, he will share his experience staying on couches and getting over the fear of sharing your life with a stranger.
Julia Reichert | Why Bad Feelings Are Good and Normal
Julia Reichert is an author with a master’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience of Language. In her current book, “Hirn to go,” she writes about her vision of a future in which we take a step back: decelerate, do less, enjoy more, and take more time for the essentials while understanding that it is normal and even important to have so-called negative feelings in life.
Till Hasbach | Just a Game — Why Innovation Needs Room to Play
Till Hasbach is the developer of Moonshot — The Innovation Game and founder of Playful Business. At the interface between game development and consulting, he supports companies in cultivating a more playful culture of innovation. In doing so, he likes to combine things that seem paradoxical and uses playful methods to create an unusual view of and for the new.
