On October 19, the time had finally come: Our first community event took place at the premises of our partner Grünhof! We spent an inspiring evening with our TEDxFreiburg community and watched selected talks from the TEDWomen conference in Atlanta together.

What is TEDWomen?

TEDWomen is a very special event that has been running for over 14 years alongside the annual TED conference in Vancouver and this year took place in Atlanta for the first time. It was created in 2010 to promote the dynamic work and ideas of women around the world. Jule, who was there for TEDxFreiburg, was inspired by over 40 exciting talks and a varied supporting program.

An evening full of inspiration and exchange

Our event in Freiburg kicked off with selected highlights from the TEDWomen conference. The talks covered a variety of topics, but they all had one thing in common: they were thought-provoking and stimulated discussion. Whether it was about social change, sustainable business or gender inequality – the talks touched us all in their own way.

After the presentations, there was plenty of opportunity to chat over snacks and drinks in a cozy atmosphere. Networking inspired by the strong impulses of the TEDWomen speakers – that’s what made the evening so special.

A successful kick-off

Our first community event was a complete success and we are already looking forward to many more joint events with you. TEDWomen has inspired us all and we are excited to see what ideas and projects will emerge from it in our TEDxFreiburg community.
